Cerablanket exceeds Kaowool in each and every specification with both a higher temperature rating at 2400 F versus 2300 F, and lesser impurities. Additionally, Cerablanket has low thermal conductivity, excellent thermal shock resistance, low heat storage capacity, and no smelly burnout because it has no organic binders. The R-value is approximately 2.2 per inch. For an 800 F. hot face with 1″ of insulation, the cold face of the insulation would be around 176 F. This versatile ceramic insulation is perfect for kilns, blacksmith forges, wood stove insulation, fireplace insulation, welding, boilers, brazing, bead-making and glass blowing, soldering, raku and pottery kilns, muffler packing and many more applications. It is easy to cut to fit with the included CM-Ceramics knife that saves your blade. It is light weight, flexible, and will conform to the inner shape of a propane tank forge, for example. The blanket will also be installed with mechanical fasteners such as stainless-steel pins or bolts, or adhered with ceramic adhesive, or sodium silicate.
